Services Defined

Assisted Living

Assisted Living combines residential housing, personalized support services and health care for people who need some help with daily living activities. Assisted Living generally is on a scale between independent living and nursing care.

An Assisted Living Residence or Assisted Living Facility (ALF) is a housing facility for people with disabilities. These facilities provide supervision or assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs); coordination of services by outside health care providers; and monitoring of resident activities to help to ensure their health, safety, and well-being.

Assistance may include the administration or supervision of medication, or personal care services provided by a trained staff person.

Assisted Living is an eldercare alternative for people, for whom independent living is not appropriate but who do not need the 24-hour medical care provided by a nursing home. Assisted Living is a philosophy of care and services promoting independence and dignity.

Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE)

Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly provide care, supervision and assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing and grooming. They may also provide incidental medical services under special care plans.

These communities provide services to persons 60 years of age and over and persons under 60 with compatible needs. Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly may also be known as assisted living facilities, retirement homes and board and care homes. The communities can range in size from six beds or less to over 100 beds. The residents in these communities require varying levels of personal care and protective supervision. Because of the wide range of services offered by Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly, consumers should look closely at the programs of each facility to see if the services will meet their needs.

Smaller Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly with six beds or less offer a community with a home like environment. They provide a caring staff who assist and provide care and comfort to your loved ones. Smaller Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly provide a safe, loving and home like environment which provides peace of mind to their families through responsible, pro-active care, communication, and partnership.

Client Evaluation & Community Match

Senior's Avenue® free client evaluation and community match what is it?

First every client has different needs for assistance and every community has different levels of assistance available.

Second every client has different desires, some clients’ don’t want to leave their pets behind when they move into an elderly community, others like large social gatherings and yet others prefer a smaller home like environment.

We meet with the client and family in order to evaluate their need for medication reminders, bathing, dressing, transfer to and from bed or wheelchair, dietary needs, memory care for Alzheimer's or dementia and special medical equipment needs such as a hospital bed.

Has the client already entered into hospice or will they be entering into hospice in the near future. Not all communities permit hospice clients’ and those that do have a limited number of hospice waivers.

After gathering information about the client’s needs and desires we match them to the communities with current availability that can provide for those needs and desires.

Please contact Senior's Avenue® for a free client evaluation and community match toll free at 855-900-1711 or in Orange County at 714-743-9795 or in the Inland Empire at 909-794-4850.
